CINEMATOGRAPHY
Shooting on 16mm at Sydney Film School taught Mattia to build as much of the look of the film in camera rather than in post or with LUTs. Choosing to take a more traditional approach to shooting, tweaking camera settings as if she's choosing film stock. Building off that with lenses and lighting to create a near finished look on the raw footage.
Mattia likes ask the director for 5 Key Words for each scene, so she can create a visual mood and feeling from there. From film to digital, Mattia's main priority is to bring to life the director's vision for the film and help create the perfect visual world of the film.
