ABOUT
Mattia is an awarding winning, transgender filmmaker, who founded De Luca Films. She attended Sydney Film School and San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking and graduated with a New South Wales Diploma of Screen and Media and an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Digital Filmmaking. She has worked on nearly 100 projects in the past 10 years. Mattia’s passion has always been to tell stories of people whose voices would otherwise not be heard.
Over the last 10 years Mattia, has worked with Forbes, the New South Wales Government, the Utah State Government, the University of Utah, ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), SONY Pictures, Apple TV+, HBO, NETFLIX and Amazon Prime; in every role from being a runner to camera and lighting to producing to directing to editing.
When she attended Sydney Film School she learned how to shoot on 16mm film and edit 16mm on a Steenbeck editing bench. Having learned the fundamentals through traditional methods has meant that Mattia has an "old school" approach to every stage of filmmaking. She further honed her skills at San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking. Attending both schools helped her move forward in her career.
Now based in South West, London, Mattia keeps pushing for the next project, the next story and the next opportunity. Specialising in Directing, Cinematography and Editing, she has been involved in over 40 projects since moving to London in 2024.
